In the period between 70s and 80s, the dot matrix printers were very popular because of their interesting and unique features. But with the invention of latest technology, such matrix printers are eventually replaced by laser printers and inkjet printers. Now laser printers and inkjet printers are taking new forms by blending with the advanced techniques and methods. But it is not necessary that the latest technology always replaces the old one. There are many expert manufacturers like HP, Canon etc that are engaging in producing large range of printers that are compatible for POS ribbons. And for some other printers, original ribbons might not be available and this ribbon is the only option.
